It could be a photo of a person or animal, a drawing or painting, to a video. The important thing is that the reference captures the feeling or movement that you’re trying to convey in your drawing. For each drawing I tried to focus on direction, the big shapes, proportions and finally a few characteristic details. I also added some quick shading where it mattered to suggest form or darker plumage.
