In hydrocarbons and in the vapor phase, it consists of hydrogen-bonded dimers rather than individual molecules. WebIts other names are formylic acid, metacarbonoic acid, oxomethanol, carbonous acid, hydrogen carboxylic acid, hydroxy (oxo)methane and oxocarbinic acid.
