Red Bluff is about 30 miles (48 km) south of Redding, 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Chico, and 125 miles (201 km) north of Sacramento. WebDescription. Red Bluff is much like the Grand Canyon, just smaller. The hike down the bluff to the creek and eventually into the center makes it a great day trip for many people as well as a great photography spot. Starting about 300 or so feet up, Red Bluff offers beautiful views of a mini Grand Canyon that continues to grow with every rainfall.
Babine Portage is a campsite located about 12 km north of the Portage Yekooche Reserve along a gravel road, on the west end of Babine Lake. The name originates from the 19th century, when the site was used as an entry point for canoes portaging to the Hudson's Bay Company post. In the past, there were five cabins on the east side of the creek and seven on the west side, but in 2003, all but three were ignited by grass fires and burned down.
